Due to my weird ways of handling boredom and secret nerdy tendencies, I enrolled in two 400 level technology entrepreneurship courses in the College of Engineering this semester. One day after class, I was convincing my professor to enroll me in the course (because I am not an engineer) when I was introduced to the nifty founder of Autumn Berry Inspired and learned about his company that he's been working on for the past few months. I was beyond intrigued so we grabbed coffee, chatted for a few hours, and with the help of my natural charisma and charm, I was invited to join the venture as the third member of the executive team.
I am now working on this UIUC startup, Autumn Berry Inspired with my classmate and his wife, harvesting an invasive tree that produces a new super-food that hasn’t hit the market yet, the Autumn Berry. We’ve gained attention across the state, are finalists for a few awards and competitions on campus, and were featured in the Daily Illini’s BUZZ the other day:

What we do:
We
supply high-quality Autumn Berry products in positive, fair-trade, and local
ways. We make products from a problematic invasive tree species that spread across
farmlands while restoring this land into highly productive orchards.
Our Autumn
Berries are high in nutritional value, containing vitamins A, C, and E,
flavonoids and essential fatty acids.
Autumn Berries are exceptionally high in the antioxidant Lycopene. Lycopene has been associated with the
prevention of certain diseases including breast, prostate, and skin cancers.
Currently, 85% of dietary lycopene comes from tomatoes. One serving of our berries has 17 times the
amount of lycopene found in an equivalent serving of a tomato.
Try our autumn berry! You can find us at:
-The Big Grove Tavern (Autumn Berry sorbet and steak sauce)
-Blind Pig (Autumn Berry beer)
-Wedge Tequila Bar (Autumn Berry margarita)
-Champaign Common Ground Food Co-op (jam)
-Coming soon...Autumn Berry wine!
THANK YOU!!!
