Alma Mater Mayhem

The one where I finally graduated college and my university removed the historical "graduation picture" statue....

For those of you who don't attend U of I, the Alma Mater was removed from campus this year for renovations and repairs.  As graduation approached, we were informed that she would not return in time which caused an uproar, as it's the iconic place to take your picture in a cap and gown.

Got my response!
The letter caught her attention (she CC'd the Dean of the College of Business and the Event Director of the Alumni Association).  We'll see what they plan for this alma mater event.

Beauty Sleep at the Consulting Retreat

The one where I overslept at a consulting retreat because the hotel alarm clock didn't go off... The other week I went on a consulting retreat for some quality team bonding with my company for a few nights.  It was a great time, but as always, it wasn't a flawless experience...

Furby Fright

The one where I didn't like my roommate's new Furby toy.... For the last week, my roommate, Audrey, has been taunting me with her newest addition to Stoughton Island, her Furby, Pooter.  I'm not sure if you're familiar with the newest 2012 Furby release, but it is a horrible, horrible little robotic creature that I will never learn to love.  Since Audrey wouldn't listen to me when I kindly asked her to get rid of her new pet, I knew Hasbro would have my back.    The abnormally fast response rate and my ability to reach the former CEO blew my mind. Great guy. The return label kindly provided by Hasbro that will be used to exile Pooter. Even when I am able to escape the home that Pooter and I now share, I am constantly receiving Snapchats, videos and pictures keeping me informed on Pooter's whereabouts and life updates.

Palm Tree Incident

The one where I took a "big bus tour" in Miami and got hit in the head by a palm tree..multiple times... No family vacation is complete without at least one day of being hardcore tourists.  My mom  picked the Miami Big Bus Tour and dragged me off the beach to join the rest of the camera-around-the-neck tourists on this excursion.  It was pretty neat seeing some of the celebrity vacation homes and secret getaways but this tour wasn't exactly pain-free.  I decided this was an appropriate time to speak up. What a gem.  I'm waiting on my vouchers but I'll be sure to upload them once I receive them.  Below you can find a pic I snapped on my phone of my mom about to be hit in the face with a palm tree.  Since I didn't want to lose my phone, the picture was taken from a lower angle and doesn't do justice on exactly how close these palm trees actually were.
